Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

An established main building contractor headquartered in West Cork is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years of expertise. The role involves managing commercial aspects of various construction and commercial projects throughout West Cork, Cork City, and Kerry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial management and cost control for several projects simultaneously
• Develop budgets, cost plans, estimates, and tender documentation
• Lead procurement processes, negotiate subcontractor contracts, and manage subcontractor packages
• Administer interim valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts
• Track project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
• Handle contractual issues and prepare commercial reports
• Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
• Provide ongoing commercial guidance and support to project teams

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Extensive experience working with main contractors
• Demonstrated history managing commercial elements from procurement to final account completion
• Strong knowledge of cost control practices, contract management, and subcontractor supervision
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial skills
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field
• Full driving license and availability to travel across Cork and Kerry

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range €85,000 to €95,000, dependent upon experience
