Senior Project Manager / Project Director - Retail

As a Senior Project Manager focused on retail and mixed-use developments, you will lead complex multi-disciplinary projects from initial concept to completion with a strategic and commercially savvy approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead project initiation, including contract finalization, team mobilization, and internal coordination.
• Manage contract compliance and clearly define and oversee project scope across all disciplines.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants regarding scope, fees, and agreements while handling scope changes and client negotiations.
• Ensure all deliverables uphold firm quality standards and client expectations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, tenants, and operators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
• Conduct client engagement activities such as workshops and presentations, including executive-level reporting.
• Handle complex stakeholder relationships involving retail tenants, landlords, operators, and regulatory bodies.
• Support client strategic decisions balancing commercial, operational, and design factors while proactively managing expectations and project risks.
• Develop detailed and realistic project programmes aligned with retail delivery requirements, coordinating design milestones and phased handovers.
• Oversee integration of base build, shell & core, with tenant fit-out packages and ensure programme compliance with approvals and procurement strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination from concept through construction support stages, ensuring technical and brand standards alignment and high-quality outcomes through QA/QC processes.
• Manage a comprehensive project risk register, regularly reviewing and implementing mitigation strategies, escalating critical risks appropriately.
• Handle all commercial project aspects including budgeting, financial reporting, invoicing, cost tracking, and variation agreements, providing expert advice on programme impacts and tenant-driven changes.
• Supervise project delivery through to successful completion, coordinating phased handovers and ensuring smooth transition to construction teams while managing project close-out procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Over 13 years of professional experience with a proven focus on retail, mixed-use, or commercial projects.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex projects across all stages from concept to construction.
• Experienced in retail delivery including tenant coordination and fit-out integration and working with major developers or retail operators is preferred.
• Track record managing large, multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
