About the Role

Hindmarsh is expanding its South Australian operations and seeks a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a $75 million, 12-story residential development, scheduled to start onsite in early 2027. This position offers a chance to lead a major project from inception, directing an experienced team and shaping planning, commercial strategies, programming, and overall project delivery until completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team through all phases, from mobilisation to completion, ensuring alignment and focus.
  • Manage project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet significant milestones and contractual commitments.
  • Guide and nurture a high-performing team across commercial, design, and site functions.
  • Oversee project financials, including monitoring performance, managing commercial risks, forecasting, and cash flow control.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to handle contract obligations, risks, and opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate project, contractual, and operational risks proactively.
  • Establish and maintain strong ties with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve complex issues decisively to ensure timely project progression.
  • Promote and uphold high standards for safety, quality, and environmental management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide thorough project reports and maintain transparent communication with the South Australian leadership team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience managing substantial construction projects within Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environments.
  • Proven track record delivering projects valued at $50 million or more.
  • Expertise in high-rise residential or large-scale multi-story construction projects.
  • Solid knowledge of project scheduling, commercial management, and construction methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and motivating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong commercial insight and experience in managing contractual and project risks.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
