Job Summary
The Senior Production Operator specializes in overseeing and managing packaging machinery operations to consistently meet production goals. This role involves optimizing line efficiency, minimizing waste, conducting regular quality and process control checks, and maintaining equipment and workplace cleanliness according to GMP standards. The operator coordinates with maintenance teams, ensures energy resources are efficiently utilized, and supports food safety standards and audits. Safety compliance and hazard reporting are also key responsibilities, aligned with company and regulatory health and occupational safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure packaging machines operate at the targeted efficiency levels set by the department.
- Achieve set targets for material usage efficiency, reducing waste.
- Monitor and control product weight to meet grams giveaway targets.
- Supervise packers’ activities including breaks and cleaning during flavor changes.
- Maintain machinery condition by conducting regular maintenance checks on bag maker and Ishida machines.
- Keep work area and equipment clean, upholding GMP standards.
- Report workplace health hazards promptly to direct managers.
- Consistently produce quality packaging meeting established standards.
- Participate in quality wall meetings at least fifteen times each month.
- Implement and support the ongoing improvement of Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems in line with PepsiCo guidelines and relevant laws.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of one year experience operating packing machines.
- Preferred education includes Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Diploma qualifications.
- Basic communication skills essential.
- Positive and proactive work attitude.
- Relevant tertiary education is advantageous.
