Senior Product Manager, Intelligent Platforms

Role Overview

The Foundations Alliance at HelloFresh aims to speed up the delivery of robust, scalable, and highly available digital products by offering internal services and platforms that boost builder productivity and system reliability. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll be accountable for shaping the vision, strategy, and delivery of the Operational Data Platform — the foundational infrastructure managing data creation, transport, and storage to enable analytics and AI downstream. This layer includes streaming and database systems essential for product teams to reliably access data from the start.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision and development roadmap for the Operational Data Platform, focusing on low-latency data creation, transportation, storage, and availability for analytics consumers.
• Lead initiatives to improve cost efficiency, setting cost reduction as a major performance indicator.
• Ensure high reliability of critical systems like streaming infrastructures and key databases, establishing uptime targets and integrating incident learnings into planning.
• Promote adoption of data contracts and schema standards at data generation points with producer teams to guarantee high-quality data flow downstream.
• Make informed decisions about tooling evolution, concentrating on consolidating to the most effective solutions and avoiding tool redundancy.
• Manage the interface and data handover agreements with the Analytical Data Platform, ensuring data received meets quality and governance expectations.
• Serve as the main liaison between the Operational Data Platform and data-producing teams, translating their requirements into prioritized development.
• Establish, monitor, and report on key performance metrics such as cost efficiency, critical system reliability, and data quality adoption aligned with quarterly objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience as a Product Manager with a strong foundation in data infrastructure, data engineering, or backend platforms, including concepts of streaming/messaging systems and databases.
• Practical understanding of event streaming technologies and relational/NoSQL databases to effectively collaborate with engineers on technical decisions.
• Proven record of managing a focused team’s roadmap and KPIs, particularly those relating to costs, reliability, or data quality, and driving measurable improvements.
• Competence in leveraging data to guide roadmap priorities, equipped with advanced tools and open to mentorship.
• Excellent collaborative abilities that foster trust and alignment with engineering leads and stakeholders, supported by clear verbal and written communication.
• Results-driven mindset with a pragmatic approach to execution, able to handle trade-offs between cost, reliability, and technical debt in real-time operational settings.
