Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our rapidly growing team, primarily working from our Sydney Surry Hills headquarters, in an in-person role requiring presence in office four days a week. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality user experiences, focusing on visual design, prototyping, usability testing, and evolving our design system. You will collaborate closely with multifunctional teams to craft products that delight customers while raising the product quality bar.

Key Responsibilities

• Embed customer feedback in design decisions by engaging regularly with users, participating in research, conducting usability tests, and utilizing tools such as archetypes and journey maps to develop shared customer insights among teams.
• Create intuitive, seamless, and attractive product experiences that balance user needs, business objectives, and technical limitations using research, UX, interaction, and visual design principles.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, go-to-market teams, leadership, and fellow designers to conceive and deliver impactful product features.
• Develop prototypes and partner with engineers to ensure detailed attention throughout implementation, maintaining a high standard of quality in the final product.
• Contribute actively to the development and refinement of the design system by working with designers and engineers to create reusable patterns and components across the product.
• Help cultivate and scale the design team culture, processes, and rituals as the product team expands, promoting quality standards and facilitating cross-product design solutions.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in product design, preferably with a background in designing modern B2B cloud software within startups or fast-paced product environments.
• Comprehensive design process expertise, capable of transitioning smoothly from product discovery through detailed design stages, and adept at visualizing and prototyping concepts rapidly to facilitate iteration and alignment.
• Enthusiasm for experimenting with AI, comfortable exploring AI tools and rapid prototyping methods to enhance design efficiency and outcomes.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to quality, consistently seeking improvements to elevate the customer experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders by sharing clear product and design vision, framing challenges, and driving alignment.
• Collaborative approach to working alongside product managers, engineers, and other colleagues to prioritize and deliver meaningful product features.
• Pragmatic and resourceful mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and deadlines, making sound trade-offs while maintaining strategic objectives.
• Positive attitude towards the dynamic and uncertain environment of an early-stage startup, motivated to influence product and company development.
