Senior PL/SQL Technical Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior PL/SQL Technical Lead to architect, develop, and spearhead Oracle PL/SQL solutions for the Government Business Solutions (GBS) banking product suite. This position involves tailoring, enhancing, integrating, optimizing performance, and providing production support for GBS modules implemented across various banking platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop intricate Oracle SQL/PLSQL solutions supporting GBS product modules, banking customizations, and feature enhancements.
• Create and review database components such as packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and utilities.
• Convert GBS functional requirements into effective, scalable technical implementations.
• Evaluate impacts of changes and customizations on existing GBS components, ensuring adherence to coding and database standards.
• Analyze and enhance SQL/PLSQL performance for large transaction volumes, utilizing tools like AWR, ASH, ADDM, execution plans, and SQL Trace.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents; implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
• Lead PL/SQL development initiatives, conduct design and code reviews, and mentor developers to maintain development standards.
• Collaborate closely with architects, functional teams, DBAs, and deployment teams to support integration with Core Banking Systems and regulatory portals.
• Support test cycles and production releases by preparing database scripts for upgrades, migrations, and custom implementations, ensuring data integrity.

Technical Expertise Required

• Proficient in Oracle Database 19c with advanced skills in SQL and PL/SQL including use of collections, bulk processing, dynamic SQL, and exception handling.
• Knowledge in database design, data modeling, query optimization, indexing, partitioning, as well as performance tuning based on execution plans and diagnostic tools (AWR, ASH, ADDM).
• Working familiarity with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins/CI-CD pipelines, and database version control tools like Liquibase or Flyway is advantageous.

Experience & Domain Background

• A minimum of 10 years in Oracle SQL/PLSQL development with demonstrated expertise in performance tuning and complex project leadership.
• Proven track record leading technical teams involving design and code reviews.
• Substantial experience in banking software development, preferably with high-volume online transaction processing and mission-critical systems.
• Knowledge of Government Business Applications or similar banking platforms is highly preferred.
• At least 5 years of exposure to banking or financial services applications, with familiarity in core banking platforms (Finacle, TCS BaNCS, Oracle FLEXCUBE) considered a plus.
• Understanding of high-availability, security, and regulatory demands typical in banking IT environments.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Exposure to Oracle 23ci, Exadata, GoldenGate replication, and Oracle Advanced Security/TDE mechanisms.
• Experience with REST API development, Spring Boot framework, and microservices architecture integrations.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-based database solutions.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK stack.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and Oracle Cloud certifications are considered valuable additions.
