Senior Planner

Role Overview

ConsultANZ is looking for a seasoned Senior Planner to join a prominent civil construction company, contributing significantly to the successful execution of major infrastructure projects throughout New Zealand. The position is based in Hamilton, Tauranga, or Hawke's Bay, offering an excellent chance to lead project planning efforts on complex civil construction assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and oversee construction schedules for both tender submissions and ongoing projects.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to define construction methods, sequences, and delivery strategies.
• Monitor project progress, pinpoint potential delays and risks, and provide timely programme updates.
• Perform schedule and delay analyses to evaluate project impacts and critical milestones.
• Assist with extensions of time (EOT) claims and related commercial aspects through comprehensive programme assessments.
• Engage with project managers, engineers, commercial staff, clients, and other stakeholders for seamless project delivery.
• Utilize Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project software to create and maintain project schedules.

Candidate Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a similar field.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling, or project controls within civil construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficient in using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project tools.
• Experienced in performing delay analyses, forensic scheduling, or handling EOT claims.
• Knowledgeable about construction methodologies and project sequencing techniques.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
• Capable of working autonomously while contributing efficiently within a team environment.
• Proactive, commercially minded approach towards project planning.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive annual base salary ranging from $140,000 to $160,000, negotiable based on experience.
