Job description
About the Role
Join Bank of New Zealand as a Senior People Technology Analyst to influence and maintain our Workday HCM solutions. This role requires hands-on involvement in addressing complex challenges, recommending improvements, and delivering effective solutions that enhance the employee experience. You will engage in all phases of the solution lifecycle, including analysis, troubleshooting, configuration, delivery, testing, and ongoing optimizations, while fostering strong relationships with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 support for Workday HCM and handle integrations with downstream systems such as ADP Payroll.
- Collaborate closely with the People & Culture team to resolve intricate HR system issues and consult on business process matters.
- Analyze enhancement requests, propose solutions aligned with best practices, and support agile delivery methods.
- Take lead in resolving bugs and system defects end-to-end when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with legal, audit, and risk standards in all system operations.
- Share expertise with colleagues, identify coaching opportunities, and contribute to the professional development of team members.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has at least five years' experience supporting HR systems, particularly Workday HCM modules such as Core, Compensation, Time and Attendance, Performance, and Learning. A tertiary qualification in a relevant technical field is essential. You thrive when solving problems, building solid relationships, and collaborating effectively across teams.
You demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, have managed complex incident resolutions involving multi-system integrations, and possess experience liaising with vendors and cross-regional teams. Excellent communication skills permit you to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders. Experience in test management further supports your success in this role.

Our team values collaboration, inclusiveness, and mutual support. Members readily assist each other to maintain an atmosphere where everyone feels respected and valued. The professional and team-oriented environment at BNZ fosters a positive and rewarding workplace.
