Role Overview
The Developer Platform team is dedicated to building internal tools and platforms that significantly improve the speed, quality, and developer experience of Synthesia's engineering divisions. Responsibilities include ownership of developer productivity workflows, CI/CD systems, AI-driven quality assurance and development tools, and analyzing system health. This role offers a broad scope of ownership impacting AI-driven engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and own the full lifecycle of platform features ensuring safe customer releases and long-term support.
- Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews and design collaboration to uphold technical excellence.
- Lead complex, multi-quarter projects with defined milestones, exercising autonomy in decision-making and escalation as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to influence technical strategy and product roadmaps through critical analysis and proposal of alternatives.
- Maintain the operational stability of developed systems and use data-driven insights for ongoing improvements and deprecation planning.
- Anticipate and address long-term technical challenges, building scalable solutions and advancing engineering capabilities ahead of demand.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in senior or staff roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and running developer platforms, CI/CD infrastructure, observability tools, code quality automation, testing systems, or developer tooling.
- Successful track record delivering infrastructure or tools that measurably improve developer speed and reduce cognitive effort.
- Experience leading the integration and adoption of AI-augmented developer tools across engineering teams.
- Background in high-performance engineering environments where infrastructure decisions directly enhance team output and product excellence.
- Expertise integrating third-party APIs and SaaS tools into internal platforms while managing reliability, security, and user experience at scale.
- Strong awareness that platform and infrastructure improvements impact commercial success.
- Proven ownership of broad technical domains end-to-end.

Additional Information
- Preferred locations include UK, Germany, Switzerland, or Ireland; remote work elsewhere in Europe may be possible with compliance and right-to-work verification.
- Base salary starts at 130000 EUR/GBP/CHF plus equity (RSUs).
- This is a full-time permanent position, typically engaged through OysterHR; contractor roles are not available.
- Employees receive 25 days of paid leave plus local holidays without additional paid or unpaid leave provisions.
- Visa sponsorship is only available for candidates already residing in UK/EU countries needing support; relocation assistance is not offered.
