About the Role

As a Software Specialist within the Digital Credit Card squad, you'll be a key .NET engineering expert responsible for designing, building, and maintaining APIs and applications that underpin ASB's customer identity platform. This role involves engaging in strategic development projects including proof-of-concepts, platform modernization, and roadmap-driven activities, alongside maintaining reliable and evolved services that support ASB's digital customer offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, deploy, and support modern .NET applications and APIs.
• Ensure software solutions are secure, dependable, and scalable, focusing on customer identity services.
• Participate in strategic platform initiatives and evolution through proofs of concept and planning.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technology partners to meet business goals.
• Apply best engineering practices including design, testing, deployment, and continuous support.
• Identify and implement improvements in system reliability, quality, automation, and performance.
• Promote knowledge sharing and uphold engineering standards within the team.
• Contribute to the long-term sustainability of critical customer-facing systems.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has experience solving complex technical challenges and developing high-quality software in enterprise contexts. They should be capable of independent work while thriving in a team of skilled senior specialists. The role requires strong expertise in .NET development, database management, and a pragmatic approach to engineering, coupled with a keen interest in contemporary development methodologies.

Skills and Experience Required

• Proven hands-on experience with .NET and C# application and API development.
• Strong database knowledge with a background in creating modern web and backend applications utilizing databases or directories.
• Comprehensive understanding of API design, integration techniques, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience managing the complete software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with authentication and security technologies such as OAuth, tokens, and identity management platforms.
• Ability to operate effectively within complex enterprise technology setups.
• Strong autonomy in work coupled with excellent collaboration skills.
• Solid communication and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred but not mandatory: experience with Java applications, Kafka, React frontend development.
• Valued familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance development efficiency.
