Senior Media Editor (Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Media Editor to join the Centre for Instructional Technology, specifically within the Multimedia department at the National University of Singapore. This role is based at the Kent Ridge Campus and involves executive and administrative responsibilities supporting media production aimed at enhancing teaching and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced media editing and enhancement using professional post-production processes such as colour grading, sound balancing, motion graphics integration, caption creation, compression, and preparing content for multi-platform release.
• Utilize AI-powered media applications for tasks including transcription, captioning, noise reduction, image and background enhancement, generative media creation, as well as voice and video processing, ensuring the verification of output accuracy, quality, fairness, and compliance with copyright and privacy standards.
• Work closely with media producers and team members to convert educational and communication goals into compelling and clear media products.
• Guarantee all media content adheres to accessibility standards, university branding, copyright laws, data protection policies, and platform-specific requirements, including precise captioning and suitable formatting.
• Advise on the selection of effective media formats, production techniques, and the cautious integration of new AI technologies.
• Develop straightforward instructional materials or conduct basic media tool training sessions as necessary.
• Manage orderly media libraries, project documentation including metadata, release forms, backups, and version control in line with university protocols.
• Oversee coordination of schedules, vendors, production assets, project monitoring, quality assurance, and timely delivery of outputs.
• Stay informed about emerging trends in digital media, educational technologies, and AI-assisted production, proposing actionable enhancements to workflows.
• Administer software license subscriptions related to media tools.
• Undertake special projects or additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A diploma or degree in Media Production, Film, Communications, Digital Media, Multimedia, Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in media production and post-production; prior involvement in educational, training, or institutional communications is beneficial.
• Proficiency with major video and audio editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable tools.
• Practical expertise in AI-related media tools for transcription, captioning, audio refinement, image/video enhancement, content generation, and workflow automation, including competency in selecting suitable tools and validating results.
• Comprehensive understanding of camera operation, lighting setups, audio recording equipment, studio/location shoots, codecs, file formats, and delivery standards for media.
• Strong skills in visual storytelling, editorial decisions, meticulous attention to detail, project oversight, and communication with stakeholders.
• Awareness of issues concerning accessibility, copyright, licensing, privacy, consent, and ethical AI use in media work.
• Submission of a portfolio or showreel showcasing relevant video, audio, graphic design, or digital media projects is mandatory.
