Overview

The role focuses on guaranteeing the reliability, operational availability, and safety of mechanical production equipment by implementing efficient preventive and corrective maintenance. The position entails troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvements to reduce downtime and control maintenance expenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures promptly.
• Offer crucial technical support during major equipment breakdowns to lessen downtime.
• Liaise with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers for technical assistance, repairs, and spare parts procurement.
• Design and carry out preventive maintenance programs including routine inspections and checklists.
• Continuously monitor equipment conditions to anticipate possible failures.
• Investigate repeated faults and apply corrective and preventive measures accordingly.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
• Identify critical spare parts to ensure continuous equipment availability, coordinating their procurement with suppliers.
• Assist in identifying alternative suppliers to enhance spare parts availability and reduce costs.
• Interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
• Resolve issues related to mechanical systems such as rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, and conveyor systems.
• Conduct root cause analyses and suggest effective corrective strategies.
• Support equipment modifications aimed at improving reliability.
• Coordinate maintenance operations with production teams to minimize downtime.
• Schedule maintenance priorities based on equipment criticality and production demands.
• Arrange for specialized maintenance tasks in collaboration with contractors and service providers.
• Conduct maintenance tasks adhering to safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace.
• Continuously update both technical and soft skills relevant to the role.
• Execute planned maintenance activities to fulfill operational and developmental objectives within cost and time constraints.
• Provide periodic reports detailing planned task deviations and accomplishments.
• Address and resolve arising issues, escalating complex operational problems as necessary.
• Develop and enforce quality control processes related to products and procedures.
• Collaborate in enhancing business processes through policies, procedures, and automation initiatives.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure workplace safety and product/service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional experience ranging from 6 to 10 years in mechanical equipment maintenance.
