Senior Material Handler - Regional Equipment Pool

Position Overview

This role is situated within the Regional Equipment Pool Warehousing team in Burnham, Canterbury, supporting the New Zealand Defence Force by managing their fleet of vehicles and equipment, including Mercedes and MAN trucks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate in a practical, hands-on capacity involving the configuration and movement of a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Handle receipt and issuance of loaned equipment and vehicles, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
• Coordinate the return process of items with the customer to maintain operational efficiency.
• Manage inventory and accountability for stored items within the warehouse.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience working in logistics or customer-centred roles requiring practical skills.
• Physical fitness to manage manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting.
• Possession of a full motor vehicle licence is mandatory; candidates holding a Class 2 licence will be advantaged.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to identify minor faults and issues on vehicles and equipment.
• A collaborative mindset willing to actively participate and contribute beyond assigned tasks.
