Role Overview
This role involves leading the strategy, design, oversight, and execution of Affirm's executive compensation programs. The focus is to ensure that executive rewards align with business growth objectives, attract and keep top talent, and promote a culture of high performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage executive compensation programs including base salaries, annual bonuses, and equity awards.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align compensation strategies with company goals, culture, and values.
- Continuously assess and improve executive compensation plans to maintain competitiveness, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
- Analyze market trends and economic factors to inform compensation recommendations supporting business and talent strategies.
- Work closely with Compensation Operations for smooth program administration and governance.
- Partner with People, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to tackle complex compensation challenges and ensure successful program execution.
- Create communication strategies to help leaders and employees understand and utilize compensation programs effectively.
- Oversee compensation systems and processes to enhance data integrity, operational efficiency, and employee experience.
- Lead executive compensation analyses and prepare materials for Compensation Committee, Board, and executive leadership presentations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Over 12 years of experience in compensation, particularly in designing and managing broad-based and executive compensation initiatives.
- Proven track record of leading complex compensation projects and influencing senior executives.
- Deep knowledge of compensation strategy, market benchmarking, incentive plan design, governance, and administration.
- Experience supporting executive compensation governance including Board and Compensation Committee processes and proxy activities.
- Strong partnership skills across People, Finance, Legal, and leadership teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate philosophy into operational solutions at scale.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, expert proficiency in Excel, and experience developing complex compensation and workforce models.
- Experience utilizing data analytics and AI-enabled platforms like Snowflake, Sigma Computing, or Claude Code to gain insights and improve decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, sound business judgment, executive presence, and ability to manage sensitive confidential information.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary ranges between $173,000 and $233,000 annually depending on factors such as experience, skills, and location. Compensation may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology expenses, as well as comprehensive benefits including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.
Additional Information
This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Affirm operates as a remote-first company, supporting working from almost anywhere in the country, with occasional office presence required depending on the role.
