Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Counsel to join our Global Litigation team, reporting to the Head of Litigation for EMEA and AMA. This role demands independent leadership over comprehensive litigation matters, managing disputes through all phases with strategic insight and sound judgment. The position involves engaging with multifaceted legal issues within a dynamic environment, collaborating closely with both legal and business units, and developing a firm understanding of technical and product-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide litigation support primarily focused on European cases, handling litigation, pre-litigation claims, and associated legal concerns.
- Manage the full spectrum of litigation activities including pre-action processes, discovery, evidence gathering, witness preparation, drafting, coordination of case conferences, interim motions, and preparation for alternative dispute resolution or trials.
- Oversee and collaborate with external counsel to ensure high standards in legal representation, including day-to-day management, strategy alignment, and quality of written and oral submissions.
- Independently produce legal deliverables and counsel clients on complex issues, contracts, and litigation responses with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to support the company’s litigation and regulatory strategies.
- Deeply understand relevant laws, interpreting and applying legal frameworks adeptly to various legal challenges.
- Proactively identify legal risks in commercial contexts, consult relevant experts and advise clients with informed recommendations, including in uncertain circumstances.
- Lead complex legal matters autonomously, exhibiting responsibility and strategic foresight.
- Balance legal advice with business considerations, demonstrating acute risk awareness.
- Keep regional teams informed of legal developments and mentor junior litigation staff.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience handling litigation throughout Europe.
- Qualification as a lawyer in at least one jurisdiction where TikTok operates.
- Proven team collaboration skills and the ability to interact across organizational levels.
