Senior Level Designer

Role Overview

As a Senior Level Designer at Cloud Chamber, you will be instrumental in shaping the player experience by designing and blocking out the environment within the rich narrative and system-driven world of BioShock. This role calls for a collaborative, compassionate, and authentic designer passionate about delivering engaging, immersive gameplay moments. You will be a core member of a team dedicated to bringing a fantastical world to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Employ Blueprint scripting to develop gameplay elements.
• Design layouts and create blocked-out world geometry.
• Work closely with world architects and other departments to realize the project's creative vision.
• Independently resolve complex or innovative cross-disciplinary gameplay sequences from initial concept through completion.
• Participate in cross-functional teams focusing on improving combat, AI, progression, exploration, narrative, and other gameplay systems.
• Mentor junior designers, fostering skill growth and professional development.
• Develop scripted and systemic content throughout the game environment.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience shipping at least one AAA game as a designer.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in video game design.
• Strong problem-solving ability and self-driven approach.
• Prior experience with Unreal Engine is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
• Competence working both autonomously and in diverse team sizes.
• Skilled in succinct and effective documentation of design work.
• Excellent communication skills with the capacity to prioritize competing tasks efficiently.
