Senior / Laundry Attendant

Job Summary

The Senior Laundry Attendant is responsible for operating and overseeing laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, and dry-cleaners. This includes adding necessary chemicals, cleaning lint traps, and ensuring the quality and cleanliness of laundered items.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage washing, dry cleaning, and drying operations, including chemical application and maintenance of machinery.
• Identify stained or damaged linens and determine appropriate action such as repair, spot treatment, rewash, or disposal.
• Inspect cleanliness of items after washing or dry cleaning and organize them in clean linen carts.
• Set dryers with appropriate cycle times and temperatures tailored to the fabric types in each load.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, filters, and traps after each cycle.
• Fold clean articles to specified dimensions, either manually or using folding equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all laundered items.
• Comply with all safety and security policies; report any incidents or hazards immediately.
• Adhere to company policies, maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality.
• Foster positive team relationships and contribute towards shared goals.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and quality within laundry operations.
• Conduct routine visual inspections of tools and equipment to spot defects.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, navigating confined or uneven spaces, and ongoing bending or twisting motions.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Candidate Profile

No formal secondary education or equivalent is required. Prior experience in related work or supervisory roles is not necessary. No specific licenses or certifications are mandated.
