Work Schedule and Compensation

This full-time role operates Monday to Friday on the day shift, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (40 hours per week). The hourly base wage is approximately $50, with potential eligibility for an annual incentive plan offering a target bonus of 4% of the yearly base salary.

Primary Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust systems to quickly resolve equipment failures and limit production downtime.
• Execute routine preventative maintenance including lubrication and cleaning as scheduled for machinery upkeep.
• Inspect equipment rigorously to detect and investigate irregularities, recommending maintenance as needed and performing spot repairs with minimal supervision to ensure full issue resolution.
• Install and relocate stationary industrial machinery per plans using various hand, power, and lifting tools.
• Carry out specialized millwright tasks like welding, cutting, rigging, machining, pipefitting, and plumbing following provincial regulations.
• Collaborate with production operations to escalate and address system concerns, prioritizing excellent customer service.
• Fabricate and repair replacement parts using lathes, grinders, and other fabrication tools with an emphasis on quality and zero rework.
• Research technical manuals, schematics, and drawings to guide troubleshooting, installation, and equipment improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation via a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Operate cranes, jacks, and similar lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installations and repairs.
• Support and assist other trades like plumbing, electrical, and HVAC in troubleshooting and repairing specialized systems.
• Train, mentor, and coach junior mechanics to build team capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws, industrial regulations, and occupational health and safety standards emphasizing workplace safety.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a valid Millwright Certification of Qualification (433A).
• Have at least 4 to 5 years of licensed industrial maintenance experience post-certification.
• Skilled in reading schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints with independent problem-solving ability.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills adhering to safety procedures and standardized methods.
• Basic computer literacy comfortable with preventive maintenance software and work order systems.
• Proficient with fabrication machinery such as lathes and grinders and familiar with various hand and power tools, testing devices, and programmable controls.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information clearly across teams.
• Ability to foster teamwork, follow company policies, and demonstrate reliability, safety focus, and punctuality.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity supporting a respectful work atmosphere.
• Additional certifications in forklift, scissor lift operation, and welding are advantageous.
• Experience with PLCs and familiarity with equipment brands such as Trumpf, Mazak, Cincinnati, and ABB Robotics is beneficial.

Physical Requirements

• Most tasks require standing with intermittent walking; lifting of items typically between 5–20 lbs.
• Occasionally push or pull motorized carts loaded up to 1000 lbs.
• Frequent bending, crouching, and handling a range of parts weights.
• Continuous reaching covering a full range of motion from above shoulders to below knees.
