Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Capital Practitioner based in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province, Zambia. This full-time, onsite role involves delivering critical Human Resource operational processes and ensuring compliance with HR policies within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all essential HR operational tasks, including payroll input and reconciliation, recruitment, and recurring HR activities, ensuring successful delivery to the business.
- Interpret and advise on Human Resources policies while guaranteeing adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the review and update of HR policies and procedures in collaboration with employees and line managers; provide coaching and guidance to line managers on relevant HR matters.
- Assist line managers with Employee Relations and organizational design practices.
- Provide support to employees concerning new and existing HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee data consistent with government regulations.
- Compile and manage necessary documentation for submissions and prepare data for statutory reporting and approvals like overtime exemptions.
- Build and sustain strong professional relationships with line managers and employees.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance and HR governance standards and policies.
Requirements
- Possession of a Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.
- A Master’s degree in HR Management is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a human capital role covering major HR focus areas.
- Proven experience working within a structured HR environment, preferably in the mining industry.
- Exposure to managing union relations is a valuable asset.
- Membership in the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management is required.
