Job description

Role Overview

As a Senior Hotel Accountant at The Address Connolly, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial processes, reporting, and analysis for the property. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, your contributions will support the teams in delivering exceptional guest experiences aligned with The Address Collective’s values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and adjust roster management in line with business demands and revenue targets, collaborating closely with departmental heads.
  • Provide weekly revenue forecasts specifically for Food, Beverage, and Spa departments.
  • Manage payroll processing and associated activities, including preparation and filing of P30 returns.
  • Prepare month-end financial accounts encompassing Profit & Loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and bi-monthly VAT returns.
  • Lead purchase and stock management aligned with operational needs, coordinating with various department leaders.
  • Support audit preparations by working alongside external auditors during the year-end process.
  • Contribute to monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting cycle.
  • Enforce strong financial controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant laws, and regulations.
  • Advise other departments on the financial implications of their operations to maintain overall profitability through careful budget management.
  • Ensure efficient income management including handling card payments, cash, cheques, and bank transfers.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as requested.

Candidate Requirements

  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Competency in IT systems and hotel-specific software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and sustain professional relationships with associates, customers, and vendors.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of legal issues pertaining to the hotel industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hotel operations impacting financial departments.
  • A tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience, with demonstrable hotel accounting expertise.
  • Previous experience in a hotel accountant role is essential.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
