About the Role
Biosis Australia is expanding and invites experienced Heritage Consultants to join their Sydney team on a permanent basis. This position is ideal for a Senior Heritage Consultant or a Heritage Consultant ready to advance to a senior role. You will use your expertise across a variety of projects focused on both Aboriginal and historical archaeology, reporting directly to the Manager of Heritage (NSW).
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze site patterning and the processes of land and site formation to understand artefact locations and preservation for Aboriginal sites.
- Lead and participate in fieldwork for Aboriginal archaeological projects.
- Effectively communicate and consult with authorities, communities, clients, landowners, and the public concerning your projects.
- Prepare comprehensive reports tailored to different project requirements.
- Manage projects to meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations while upholding Biosis’ high-quality standards.
- Stay informed about current regulatory requirements, understand their implications on project work, and explain these to clients.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of an Honours degree in Archaeology or a Master’s degree in Archaeology or a related field.
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience in Aboriginal archaeology and heritage.
- Demonstrated interest and expertise in Aboriginal archaeology and heritage.
- Capability to work onsite, including remote locations, and be away from home as necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid and current driver's license.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
