Role Purpose

• Lead full-stack development tasks involving React frontend and Java (Spring Boot) backend across multiple Space42 projects, excluding critical-client engagements with their own dedicated teams.
• Take complete responsibility for feature lifecycle: designing, developing, and delivering both frontend and backend components independently.
• Adapt to varying project architectures and conventions rather than enforcing a uniform approach.
• Integrate data integrity, optimized performance, and accessibility proactively from the design phase.
• Collaborate with engineering leads and project teams to align standards and practices organizationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and uphold features end-to-end in React and Java Spring Boot, respecting each project's existing architecture.
• Enhance and maintain frontend state management without conflicting approaches.
• Guarantee data consistency and proper transaction handling amidst concurrent backend operations.
• Identify and fix bugs spanning frontend rendering, state issues, backend concurrency, and performance concerns.
• Profile and optimize system performance using real usage data rather than artificial benchmarks.
• Ensure UI components comply with WCAG accessibility requirements as an integral part of development.
• Work on relational database aspects including schema modifications, query optimization, and migrations using safe production practices.
• Design, implement, and manage REST APIs, owning the interface contracts between frontend and backend.
• Engage collaboratively with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers under Agile/Scrum methods on various projects.
• Apply appropriate change-management practices based on each project's maturity level and risk assessment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Extensive experience (5+ years) with React, including complex state architecture and scalable state management techniques like component state and context.
• Deep expertise in Java (5+ years), particularly managing concurrency issues such as thread safety, locking mechanisms, race conditions, and usage of java.util.concurrent library.
• Strong understanding of transaction boundaries and data integrity in multi-user environments.
• Proficient with Spring Boot framework for backend service development.
• Advanced skills in SQL and relational database management involving schema design, query tuning, and migration processes.
• Demonstrated ability to profile and improve performance on both frontend and backend under real-world conditions.
• Thorough knowledge of WCAG standards and practical implementation of web accessibility features.
• Adept at navigating and extending unfamiliar codebases across frontend and backend stacks.
• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful API design and consumption, managing request and response contracts effectively.
