Role Overview
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Designer Team, you will collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, maintain, and deploy scalable, reliable end-to-end solutions within complex systems. The Designer Team owns enterprise-grade dynamic WYSIWYG content creation tools as well as a high-performance real-time rendering pipeline. The full stack encompasses frontend user experience and backend systems developed using TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Rust, Go, and C++.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective solutions independently spanning design to deployment across the full stack and system.
- Write reusable, adaptable, and thoroughly tested code, following best practices and idiomatic use of frameworks and languages, while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
- Refactor and simplify existing codebases proactively, reducing technical debt and minimizing repetitive work.
- Develop and enhance tools and processes to increase team efficiency, alignment, and consistency.
- Maintain high-quality code standards and foster team growth through empathetic code reviews, collaborative discussions, and clear communication of technical viewpoints.
- Share knowledge and documentation openly, support and pair with teammates, and leverage their strengths in projects.
- Proactively communicate with stakeholders and cross-team collaborators and participate in recruiting activities by interviewing and assessing candidates.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience building and delivering production software as a full stack engineer.
- Proven ability to independently ship features within large codebases, including creation, reading, extension, refactoring, and overseeing deployment.
- Strong expertise in at least two core languages among TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Rust, Go, and C++, with eagerness to learn others and a focus on idiomatic use and best practices.
- Experience crafting reusable, flexible, and well-tested code, with deep understanding of relevant libraries and development tools.
- Good judgment to differentiate essential features from non-critical scope, and to confidently and transparently make and communicate decisions amid uncertainty.
- Ownership mindset with attention to edge cases, external impacts, and a proactive approach to reducing toil and technical debt.
- Maintain a consistently high standard in implementation, communication, processes, and attitude, including modern development patterns and collaborative code reviews.
- Collaborative and growth-oriented attitude: guiding teammates, welcoming feedback, and contributing to the development of others.
Compensation and Inclusion
The salary range begins at $130,000 and can reach $182,000 annually, with potential bonuses depending on the finalized role. This is complemented by comprehensive medical, financial, and other benefits. Actual offers depend on experience, skills, and qualifications. The company encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds and those who may not meet every qualification, fostering an inclusive workplace that values varied perspectives and strengths. Equal opportunity employment is fully supported regardless of race, gender identity, religion, or other protected status.
