Role Overview

As a Senior Forward Deployed AI Scientist focused on Operations & Optimization, you will leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, optimization, and simulation techniques to address complex operational issues across various industries. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including consultants, operations specialists, AI engineers, and client personnel, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable AI solutions that generate measurable business value by enhancing performance, boosting resilience, lowering costs, and driving sustainable transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end analytics workflows: defining challenges, designing algorithms, implementing solutions, and deploying scalable AI technologies.
• Apply expertise in machine learning, optimization, and simulation to solve difficult operational problems in domains such as supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, and workforce planning.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across functions and organizations to ensure AI applications align with client objectives and operational realities.
• Communicate complex analytical insights effectively to both technical and business audiences.
• Work in a client-facing capacity within diverse teams managing multiple stakeholder relationships.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Proven experience utilizing data science, machine learning, optimization, or simulation techniques on real-world business problems.
• Strong knowledge of modern analytics and machine learning approaches with the ability to generate tangible business outcomes.
• Expertise in operations and optimization methodologies addressing challenges related to supply chains, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, and workforce management.
• Proficient programming skills in Python; familiarity with optimization frameworks such as Gurobi, OR-Tools, or Pyomo is advantageous.
• Master’s degree or PhD in quantitative fields such as Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or Economics. Academic certificates should be provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English at C1/C2 proficiency levels.
