Job description
Role Overview
The Senior Epidemiologist will play a crucial role in supporting and expanding clinical research initiatives within the field of orthopedics. This position involves fostering partnerships with clinical professionals and investigators both nationally and globally, driving research design and analysis, and advancing strategic research goals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation, expansion, and oversight of orthopedic clinical research programs.
- Establish and nurture collaborations with clinicians, surgeons, and researchers on a national and international scale.
- Work closely with clinical teams to design, conduct, and interpret research studies.
- Contribute to the development of new research focus areas and strategic plans to further the research mission.
- Provide support to Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and review committees as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Doctoral-level education (PhD, MD, ScD, DrPH) in a relevant discipline.
- At least ten years of experience as a collaborative research scientist within academia or a similar setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in research methodologies, data analysis, and teamwork.
- Proven capability to establish effective partnerships and drive strategic research endeavors.
Additional Duties
- Continuously assess and improve clinical research programs.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and partnership building.
- Guide research study design and comprehensive analysis efforts.
- Initiate and develop novel research themes and strategic directions.
- Support and facilitate ethical review and compliance processes with institutional boards.
