Job description

Overview

NVIDIA DGX Cloud delivers AI supercomputing-as-a-service to drive next-generation AI and industrial advancements. The Infrastructure Security Engineering team safeguards a massive GPU fleet and engineers out systemic risks rather than just reporting them, enabling smooth operations for DGX Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of senior security and infrastructure engineers, overseeing recruitment, development, and performance to ensure sustainable productivity without reliance on individual heroics.
  • Define and guide the technical roadmap focused on security control planes, foundational security services, and autonomous security operations, with leadership setting strategy and the team executing.
  • Implement efficient planning cycles emphasizing outcome delivery and risk elimination over mere task completion, fostering transparent reflection and continuous improvement.
  • Organize work by forming focused teams sized appropriately for each project with clear ownership and accountability, enabling fast and equitable team formation and dissolution.
  • Uphold rigorous quality standards including well-tested code, comprehensive observability, operational readiness, and thorough documentation, ensuring AI-assisted work maintains clear human ownership.
  • Effectively communicate complex, rapidly evolving security risks to executives, presenting clear assessments, candid unknowns, measurable risk themes, and justifiable trade-offs.
  • Build collaborative partnerships across various DGX Cloud platform, site reliability engineering, networking, and security teams, leveraging influence without direct authority to deliver results.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Typically 7+ years of engineering management experience within broader 14+ years in software, site reliability, infrastructure, or security engineering, with demonstrated success in growing engineering talent.
  • Technical expertise in infrastructure, distributed systems, or security engineering sufficient to earn senior engineers' respect and critically evaluate designs and estimates.
  • Proven track record in recruiting and nurturing talented engineers, including domain experts, supported by robust interview and hiring calibration methods ensuring fair, repeatable hiring.
  • Skilled at executing high-stakes, ambiguous mandates by delivering measurable, phased progress and scaling successes from pilots.
  • Proficiency with cloud-native architectures, container orchestration (Kubernetes), identity and access management, policy enforcement, and vulnerability management, enabling informed questioning and building.
  • Experience influencing and delivering outcomes via cross-team partnerships without direct management authority.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience managing teams securing or operating HPC/AI infrastructure, extensive GPU fleets, or large-scale multi-tenant cloud platforms.
  • Successful delivery of security or infrastructure capabilities internally adopted as standard, making the secure path the straightforward one.
  • Expertise establishing teams, practices, or engineering cultures from the ground up, including setting foundational charters and rituals.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale teams while simultaneously elevating performance standards.
