Role Overview

The Senior ELV Engineer will be based full-time on-site in Riyadh and will oversee the design, evaluation, and integration of extra-low voltage systems for building and infrastructure projects. Daily responsibilities include creating detailed ELV system designs such as CCTV, access control, fire alarms, structured cabling, building management systems (BMS), and audio-visual systems, along with preparing technical documents and drawings. The engineer will ensure compliance with applicable standards and client expectations.

This role requires coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical stakeholders, participation in design and site meetings, and the resolution of technical challenges throughout the design, tender, and construction phases. Reviewing contractor submissions including shop drawings and material choices, supporting value engineering initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers and CAD/BIM technicians are key activities. The engineer must maintain clear communication with project participants and engage in quality assurance to promote smooth project delivery.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Strong knowledge and experience designing ELV systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, IP telephony, structured cabling, BMS, and AV systems.
• Proficient in engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, and ELV calculation software to produce precise drawings and documentation.
• Comprehensive understanding of related codes and standards like NFPA, IEC, BS, and Saudi local regulations, effectively applied in building and infrastructure projects.
• Skilled in project coordination, stakeholder communication, technical report preparation, specification writing, quantity estimation, and tender documentation.
• Experience in reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and method statements with capability to assess technical merit and aid in value engineering efforts.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field; advanced education or certifications in ELV or low-current systems beneficial.
• Several years of progressively responsible ELV engineering experience within consulting or contracting firms, ideally including projects in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf region.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities within multidisciplinary teams.
