Senior Electrical Technician

Overview

Afifi Electrical, part of Afifi Contracting Est, is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Technician to join its electrical contracting division in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in new and existing buildings, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.

Primary Duties

• Install and adjust electrical systems such as conduits, cable trays, wiring, distribution boards, lighting fixtures, sockets, and related components.
• Interpret electrical blueprints, wiring schematics, layouts, and project data accurately.
• Conduct electrical tasks for new constructions, renovations, and occupied premises.
• Identify and rectify faults in electrical wiring, circuits, panels, and equipment.
• Perform both preventive and corrective electrical system maintenance within buildings.
• Execute inspections, testing, and commissioning while keeping detailed documentation.
• Supervise and direct small teams of technicians and helpers, assigning daily tasks and verifying their completion.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure projects stay on track.
• Identify materials or equipment shortages and notify relevant personnel promptly.
• Maintain meticulous records of work performed, detected faults, repairs made, and outstanding issues.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols including safe isolation procedures, lockout/tagout methods, and appropriate personal protective equipment use.
• Assist in project handovers by addressing outstanding work and documenting installation changes for as-built records.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a diploma, technical certificate, or vocational qualification related to electrical installation or maintenance.
• Minimum five years' experience in building electrical installations, ideally within an electrical contracting environment.
• Experience in supervising or mentoring technicians and helpers on site.
• Strong hands-on expertise with building electrical systems, fault diagnosis, and electrical testing.
• Competent in reading electrical drawings and effectively using electrical testing instruments.
• Knowledgeable about local electrical codes, project standards, and safety regulations.
• Hold relevant electrical licenses or certifications, if applicable.
• Having a valid driving license is advantageous.
