Senior Electrical Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to perform hands-on electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications, testing, and repairs on industrial electrical equipment and systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot transformers and switchgear across high, medium, and low voltage levels.
• Perform work on high, medium, and low voltage cables and terminations.
• Carry out maintenance on medium and low voltage motor control centers and motors.
• Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
• Maintain lighting, cathodic protection systems, hoists, and electrical systems associated with flares.
• Work with motor and feeder protection relays for system integrity.
• Troubleshoot various electrical equipment, control systems, and power circuits.
• Interpret single line diagrams (SLDs), machine sketches, and complex control schematics effectively.
• Use specialized testing and calibration tools, including multimeters and Meggers.
• Adhere strictly to Permit to Work (PTW), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ), and plant safety protocols.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a Technical Diploma in Electrical trade with at least 3 years post-secondary education (12+3 years).
• Possess no less than 7 years of relevant practical experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer industries.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
• Have proficient English language skills in reading, writing, and comprehension to a working level.
• Exhibit good knowledge of electrical safety practices and adherence to PTW and LOTO standards.
