- Review tender documents to outline project scope and necessary tender returns.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine required measurement and pricing of work items, including phasing considerations.
- Properly file finalized documentation following company protocols.
- Perform quantitative takeoffs using estimation software for 2D and 5D applications, coordinating with design teams as needed.
- Secure and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes, ensuring scope accuracy and consistency in pricing.
- Facilitate mid-bid meetings with supply chain partners.
- Conduct subcontractor trade package analysis, comparing quotations to budgets and selecting best value options.
- Collaborate with construction teams to incorporate actual cost data and lessons learned.
- Obtain and monitor lead times from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Track and assess all tender addenda, pre- and post-tender, managing changes and updating bids accordingly.
- Support value engineering initiatives by providing detailed cost assessments.
- Manage time effectively to meet demanding deadlines.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior estimators.
- Occasionally undertake travel for client meetings, either for day trips or overnight stays.
Qualifications and Skills Required

- Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- High numerical aptitude and precise attention to detail.
- Proficient understanding of measurement methods and cost reconciliation principles.
- Computer literate with expertise in relevant estimating software packages.
