Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role involves preparing precise and timely cost estimates for a variety of electrical projects including distribution centers, automotive manufacturing plants, and data centers. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of electrical trade scopes, bid depository rules, and be proficient in interpreting electrical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze electrical drawings and technical specifications to calculate accurate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Ensure all bids comply with bid depository regulations and standards.
• Use Accubid software to create and monitor project budgets and cost controls.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to collect detailed project information required for estimates.
• Review cost variances and discrepancies and report findings for managerial review.
• Engage in bid and proposal meetings to present estimates and respond to client inquiries.
• Stay informed about current industry trends, standards, and best practices.
• Support team goals by performing related duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical estimation within the heavy industrial construction sector, especially for projects involving distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, or data centers.
• Experience estimating projects valued around $50 million.
• Proficient in Accubid and other standard industry estimating software.
• Strong understanding of electrical trade scopes and compliance with bid depository requirements.
• Capability to interpret and analyze complex electrical blueprints and specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Self-driven, detailed, and effective working independently or within a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
