Senior DevOps Platform Specialist

Role Overview

You will take a leading role in managing, enhancing, and scaling the infrastructure systems for our organization. Focusing predominantly on maximizing reliability and performance, you will work extensively within hybrid cloud environments, primarily leveraging Kubernetes and allied technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain resilient and secure Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS, including tasks such as managing node pools, handling upgrade procedures, and planning disaster recovery approaches.
• Implement Kubernetes security protocols, covering RBAC, pod security, and network policies to safeguard clusters.
• Configure Kubernetes networking elements like ingress controllers and autoscaling mechanisms (including HPA and Cluster Autoscalers such as Karpenter).
• Administer secrets and configuration management tools, specifically Vault.
• Build, maintain, and refine CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Ansible to automate code and infrastructure deployments, guaranteeing efficient and reliable software releases.
• Create and update automation scripts employing Python, Shell, or Bash, and optimize deployment methodologies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling upgrades.
• Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to achieve real-time insight into platform health and stability.
• Analyze system usage and proactively optimize AWS resource allocation to ensure a balance of performance excellence and cost effectiveness.
• Incorporate security and compliance best practices within cloud infrastructure, including image scanning and secrets management on EKS.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure infrastructure decisions support overarching business strategies.
• Continuously seek and apply improvements in infrastructure management and automation processes, keeping current on relevant technology trends and industry developments.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Expertise in Kubernetes, especially Amazon EKS, and container orchestration techniques.
• Solid experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.
• Proficient with Docker and managing container lifecycles.
• Hands-on knowledge of Terraform infrastructure as code tools.
• Competence with CI/CD processes and tools including Git, Jenkins, and Ansible.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and modern DevOps methodologies.
• Familiarity with incident management and participation in on-call rotations.
• Technical understanding of networking concepts.
• Knowledgeable in cloud security standards and compliance.
