Role Purpose

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who will be instrumental in crafting, deploying, and continuously enhancing the infrastructure and integration pipelines that support secure, scalable, and high-performance software delivery in our payments platform. This hands-on senior role demands expertise in automation, system integration, cloud infrastructure, deployments, and observability. Additionally, you will help advance the tools and methodologies that ensure service reliability and lead initiatives involving AI-augmented monitoring and automation while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, test, and uphold complex software components, scripts, and integration services following secure, standardized engineering practices.
• Lead activities for system configuration, testing, fault diagnosis, and deployment to guarantee readiness and stability of services and environments.
• Provision, set up, and optimize infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments emphasizing performance, security, and resilience.
• Develop automation solutions to eliminate routine administrative tasks, enhance deployment efficiency, and deliver consistent, dependable engineering results.
• Manage release and deployment activities including testing, quality assurance, and promptly resolving issues affecting production readiness.
• Champion improvements in DevOps workflows, tools, and observability practices, incorporating AI-driven monitoring and automation, while mentoring less experienced engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience. Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, or scripting are advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a DevOps or equivalent engineering role, preferably in technology-focused environments with primary experience on AWS and secondary on GCP.
• Expertise in AI-assisted tools for software delivery and operations, including ethical and responsible AI use.
• Strong familiarity with cloud deployments, automation frameworks, and observability tools.
• Proven problem-solving capabilities, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance tuning.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to incorporate feedback to improve stakeholder engagement.
• Industry knowledge in payments or financial technology is desirable.
• Technical proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI; Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or CDK; scripting languages including Bash, Python, or GoLang; container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes or ECS; and cloud platforms focusing on AWS.
• Deep understanding of event-driven and microservices architectures along with working knowledge of GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, observability platforms like Dynatrace, and security tools such as Wiz.
