Role Overview
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be pivotal in designing, maintaining, and enhancing the cloud infrastructure and automation layers supporting Staq's BaaS platform. This position emphasizes ensuring system stability, security, and smooth deployment processes across various environments, collaborating closely with the Technology team to swiftly handle incidents and adapt infrastructure for scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure leveraging Terraform/Terragrunt within AWS or OCI environments.
- Develop and constantly improve CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, Bash/Groovy, Docker, GitHub, and Helm.
- Set up and maintain Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and scalability.
- Enhance system monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing using tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Thanos, Elasticsearch, and Jaeger.
- Support and automate deployment procedures for applications built with Node.js, Java, and related technologies.
- Boost security measures, reliability, and operational workflows throughout all environments.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to infrastructure, networking, and deployment.
- Document DevOps processes clearly and uphold internal best practice standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a DevOps Engineer.
- Strong skills in Linux system administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration methodologies.
- Proficient in working with AWS services (including EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, RDS) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Experience working with Jenkins, building CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting.
- Familiarity with web servers and reverse proxies such as Nginx and HAProxy.
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting applications developed in Node.js or Java.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Proven track record of scaling and securing Kubernetes clusters in production settings.
- Background in fintech, payments, or other highly regulated and large-scale environments.
- Knowledge of additional technologies like Vault, Kafka, Keycloak, Nexus, or Elasticsearch is advantageous.
