Senior Design Manager

About the Role

SSH Design seeks a seasoned Senior Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design efforts for major complex building projects based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves ensuring top-notch design quality, technical precision, coordination effectiveness, and smooth delivery from concept to detailed design stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct design teams across multiple disciplines including Architecture, Structural, MEP, and specialist fields.
• Oversee delivery schedules, coordination activities, quality assurance, and the achievement of crucial project milestones.
• Serve as a senior liaison with clients, consultants, and various project stakeholders.
• Lead design review sessions and address complex technical and coordination challenges.
• Manage external consultant contributions ensuring cohesive integration of their work.
• Guarantee adherence to project specifications, relevant codes, and local authority regulations.
• Promote BIM coordination, constructability considerations, and uphold design quality during all phases of the project.
• Mentor Design Managers and provide inspirational leadership across project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• More than 15 years of professional experience, prominently featuring multidisciplinary design management roles.
• Strong consultancy background with demonstrated success on large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings, mixed-use complexes, hospitality, or residential developments.
• Proven track record in client interaction and leading teams effectively.
• Comprehensive understanding of multidisciplinary design workflows and BIM-based delivery methods.
• Experience with projects in Saudi Arabia or broader GCC region is strongly preferred.
• Professional registration or certification with a recognized institution is a valuable asset.
