Job Overview

As a Senior Deep Learning Hardware Verification Engineer at Intel, based in Leixlip, County Kildare, you will be instrumental in advancing the development and validation of cutting-edge neural processing unit (NPU) silicon solutions. This role involves close collaboration with design experts, AI model engineers, and architects to ensure the functionality and performance of next-gen NPU intellectual property blocks, shaping AI hardware innovations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough functional verification of complex digital blocks within Intel's latest NPU AI accelerator generations.
  • Design, develop, and implement verification environments covering all stages from conception to validation signoff.
  • Create detailed test plans and test cases for effective verification coverage.
  • Implement random test generation, high-level transactional models, bus functional models, functional and formal constraints, checkers, scoreboards, coverage points/groups, and SystemVerilog Assertion properties.
  • Develop software-driven test scenarios targeting functional and performance validation of NPU accelerators.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to analyze emerging AI requirements, influencing the AI product trajectory.

The team focuses on creating high-performance hardware that supports contemporary AI workloads across devices and cloud platforms, driving improvements in efficiency and scalability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • Over 8 years of professional experience in pre-silicon validation involving IPs, ASICs, SoCs, or FPGA designs.
  • Expertise with industry verification tools and methodologies such as SystemVerilog, VCS, UVM, OVM.
  • Proficient in developing verification testbenches, comprehensive test plans, and functional/formal verification frameworks.
  • Proven history of achieving coverage closure and signing off on sophisticated designs.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams and assume leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and adaptability in a dynamic, innovative tech environment.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in C-based software driver development and testing.
  • Background in verification of low-power and high-performance designs, especially hardware accelerators.
  • Expertise in SystemVerilog Assertions.
  • Familiarity with formal verification tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Git and Continuous Integration (CI) workflows.
  • Understanding of SoC architecture, including CPUs, Network on Chip (NoCs), AMBA protocols, and memory controller functionalities.
  • Awareness of deep learning principles and practical experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenCV is advantageous.
  • Passion to explore AI tools and methodologies that expedite verification completion.

Additional Information

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position in Ireland is between €76,900 and €120,100. The final compensation package will depend on candidate skills, experience, education, and may include additional benefits and pay components.
