  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to convert complex raw data into actionable insights and facilitate machine learning tasks.
  • Continuously monitor, debug, and refine the data infrastructure balancing aspects like reliability, cost, and performance.
  • Promote best practices for structuring clean, reliable, and easy-to-access data.
  • Work extensively with modern cloud-based data warehouses such as ClickHouse and integrate with other cloud services.
  • Develop tools and solutions to aid engineering teams and other technical stakeholders.
  • Support data modeling and transformation activities using dbt and SQL.
  • Participate in automation, testing, version control, and code review processes to enhance software engineering practices in data systems.
  • Improve overall scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency of the data platform.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven extensive experience designing and optimizing data warehouses within cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
  • In-depth working knowledge of data modeling and transformation tools, particularly dbt.
  • Advanced SQL expertise and familiarity with modern columnar/cloud data warehouses such as ClickHouse, Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • Experience building and managing data pipelines using orchestration tools like Prefect or Airflow.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts including warehouse architecture, data transformation, and maintaining data quality.
  • Solid software engineering skills encompassing version control, automated testing, code reviews, and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  • Excellent English communication skills for interacting within a distributed international team.
  • High sense of responsibility, autonomy, and adaptability in ambiguous situations.
  • Analytical mindset with practical troubleshooting and performance-tuning capabilities.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with BI tools such as Apache Superset, Sigma, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Preferred experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and a DevOps-oriented working style.
  • Additional advantage for candidates with scripting or automation skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Knowledge of technologies like Kafka, AWS, Terraform, and modern visualization platforms is beneficial.

Benefits and Additional Information

  • Work remotely from eligible hiring locations with a flexible fully remote setup.
  • Engage with large-scale data infrastructure supporting technology centered on security and fraud detection.
  • Exposure to a contemporary tech stack including ClickHouse, Redshift, Confluent Kafka, dbt, Prefect, AWS, Terraform, Apache Superset, and Sigma.
  • Collaborate with global teams of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  • High level of ownership and freedom within the data engineering function.
  • Contribute to developer-facing tools and scalable platform projects.
