About the Role

Linktree is searching for a Senior Data Scientist to join their Trust team. This position is pivotal in safeguarding the platform's integrity by leveraging advanced data science and statistical modeling techniques. The role entails constructing a comprehensive measurement framework to evaluate harm, platform risks, and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement core Trust metric frameworks that align with company objectives and enhance cross-functional team performance.
  • Improve and validate the scoring models assessing Linktree's quality and risk, ensuring alignment with policy through measurable heuristics.
  • Create and maintain high-quality datasets and dashboards providing insights into platform risks and system performance.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of emerging abuse patterns to guide product, policy, operations, and engineering strategies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to design evaluation frameworks for ML and LLM safety systems, including ground truth dataset creation and benchmark establishment.
  • Monitor performance metrics of models in production, such as precision, recall, calibration, and drift to detect degradation or bias.
  • Provide analytical support for Trust incident responses including impact assessment and postmortem analysis to drive improvements.
  • Present risk trends and model evaluation outcomes through effective visualizations and executive summaries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Data Scientist within a product-driven tech environment.
  • Expertise in Trust & Safety, Integrity, Fraud detection, Security, or similar risk-centered domains.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and operationalizing analytical metric frameworks for evaluating product or policy effectiveness.
  • Experience with machine learning model evaluation methodologies, including offline testing and production monitoring.
  • Advanced skills in SQL and Python or R for complex data analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Strong grounding in statistics, experimental design, and causal inference principles.
  • Familiarity with mature data infrastructure and analytics stacks such as DBT, Dagster, or Airflow.
  • Ability to design straightforward dashboards and impactful data visualizations using platforms like Hex, Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex data insights to various stakeholders.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline; advanced degrees are highly regarded.
