Role Overview

The Supply Planning team at Grab focuses on improving the operational experience of driver partners by ensuring efficient work strategies. As a key member of the data science team, you will apply AI-driven approaches to devise strategic, data-based guidance and incentives, optimizing supply usage amid diverse market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to identify and understand challenges related to driver repositioning, activation, and incentive mechanisms.
• Convert business challenges into concrete data science problems, generating viable solution designs.
• Extract, analyze, and interpret relevant large datasets for exploratory analysis, feasibility assessments, and prototyping.
• Create and roll out scalable data science models, evaluating their effectiveness through experimentation.
• Develop monitoring dashboards to oversee the health and performance of deployed data science systems, implementing continuous improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant data science fields with a degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, operations research, or related areas.
• Proficiency in constructing ETL pipelines to support advanced mathematical modeling and optimization processes.
• Hands-on experience with linear programming, mixed-integer linear programming, or non-linear programming to model and solve rigorous operations research problems.
• Competence in designing customized heuristic or meta-heuristic algorithms (such as genetic algorithms) to handle computationally demanding, large-scale optimization tasks where exact solutions are impractical.
• Sound software engineering practices, including writing clean, maintainable, and testable code; familiarity with unit and model testing is essential.
