Role Overview

EPAM Systems is looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. This role involves innovating and applying advanced techniques in statistics, machine learning, and natural language processing to create impactful AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI-driven applications including classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and natural language processing models.
• Utilize statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to solve complex data-related problems.
• Write clean, production-grade code and perform comprehensive data analysis primarily using Python and SQL.
• Design efficient workflows for model development and implement robust feature engineering strategies.
• Enhance data and model accessibility for business teams by leveraging Azure AI Search.
• Collaborate closely with software developers and project managers, utilizing tools like GitLab and Jira for version control and project management.
• Continuously improve data pipelines and optimize model performance in real-world applications.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, ensuring understanding across different expertise levels.
• Incorporate emerging technologies to innovate solutions, showcasing excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Engage actively within Agile development environments and possess proficiency with Unix command-line operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Data Science roles.
• Strong expertise in statistical data analysis, machine learning techniques, and natural language processing, applied with a practical mindset.
• Highly skilled in Python programming, including related data science libraries, and proficient in SQL.
• Proven experience in developing AI solutions involving classification, clustering, or NLP techniques.
• Well-versed in MLOps practices and feature engineering for robust model pipelines.
• Capability to utilize Azure AI Search for delivering business-aligned model accessibility.
• Familiar with software development methodologies and version control systems like GitLab.
• Experience working with project tracking tools such as Jira and operating within Agile workflows.
• Comfortable with Unix command-line tools and open to leveraging novel technological solutions.
• Possess a minimum B2 level proficiency in English, with strong communication skills tailored to technical content.
