Senior Data & Reporting Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Data & Reporting Analyst with over 8 years of experience in business intelligence, enterprise reporting, data analytics, and data engineering. This role primarily emphasizes reporting (around 70%) using Power BI and related technologies, with the remaining 30% focused on data engineering tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong practical skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL, along with extensive experience building complex dashboards and analytical reporting solutions.

The role requires working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to gather reporting needs, translate them into impactful BI solutions, and ensure data accuracy, scalability, and suitability for business use.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Power BI dashboards and enterprise reports.
• Create advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query transformations.
• Analyze business needs to devise effective reporting and analytics strategies.
• Construct and uphold robust data models and reporting datasets.
• Author and optimize complex SQL queries for analytic and reporting purposes.
• Manage data extraction and transformation using Snowflake in support of reporting workloads.
• Develop and maintain data transformation workflows leveraging dbt technology.
• Engage in data pipeline development, integration, transformation, and quality assurance processes.
• Diagnose and resolve discrepancies or issues in data and reports to uphold accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, business rules, and reporting requirements.
• Work alongside data engineers, architects, analysts, and business teams to deliver scalable BI solutions.
• Ensure Power BI deployments adhere to best practices concerning performance, usability, governance, and maintainability.
• Drive continuous enhancements in reporting platforms, data models, and analytic procedures.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 8 years in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or related fields.
• Proven, hands-on expertise in Power BI development.
• Advanced proficiency with DAX scripting.
• Strong skills in Power Query for data transformations.
• Extensive SQL development experience supportive of analytical requirements.
• Demonstrated success in designing and delivering sophisticated dashboard and BI reporting solutions.
• Good knowledge of data modelling and analytical dataset design requirements.
• Practical experience with Snowflake cloud data platform.
• Experience using dbt for modern data transformation workflows.
• Understanding of data pipeline construction, ETL/ELT methodologies, and data quality processes.
• Capability to engage directly with business stakeholders and translate their needs into actionable reporting outputs.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
