Senior Data Analyst - Visualizer

About the Role

Our organization is revolutionizing how data underpins decision-making and strategically supports growth. As the Senior Data Analyst and Visualizer, you will be instrumental in crafting our analytics infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the semantic layer, managing the analytics frameworks, and translating technical data into strategic business insights. This role involves building impactful Power BI dashboards and embedding analytics, while fostering data literacy and empowering teams and executives to leverage data effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of a unified semantic model, ensuring certified business data definitions, consistent metrics, standardized naming, dataset certifications, and implementing row-level security across reports.
• Create sophisticated Power BI dashboards and analytics tools, including embedded reporting integrated within web application interfaces using technologies such as React.
• Participate in constructing a comprehensive Unified Project View merging data from estimation, commercial, planning, design, and operational areas.
• Develop and manage data quality scorecards assessing completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and uniqueness, collaborating with data stewards to address and resolve data discrepancies.
• Design and implement a stratified data literacy program tailored for executives, managers, and power users, conduct launch training sessions, host recurring clinics, and support a federated network of data stewards across departments.
• Facilitate workshops with department leaders to convert complex business inquiries into actionable data solutions, working closely with Data Engineers and software developers.
• Monitor and assess adoption rates of data solutions as KPIs, refining tools and processes based on user feedback and performance metrics.

What We Are Looking For

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.
• Over 10 years of comprehensive experience in data analysis, semantic modeling, and data visualization.
• Familiarity with construction, contracting, interior fit-out, or project-driven sectors, particularly knowledge of Cost Value Reports, cost structures, and the tender-to-award process.

Technical Skills & Expertise

• Extensive proficiency within the Microsoft ecosystem, especially Microsoft Fabric for data management and Power BI.
• Mastery of Power BI capabilities, including semantic modeling, row-level security (RLS), Direct Lake mode, and deployment pipelines.
• Strong skills in SQL, DAX, Power Query, and Excel.
• Experience embedding analytics and visual components, such as charts and data grids, within web front-end environments in collaboration with developers.
• Routine use of Git for version control and evidence of leveraging AI tools to expedite DAX and SQL query creation, dashboard design, and documentation tasks.
• Knowledge of systems such as Salesforce, Premier, or Oracle Primavera Cloud is preferred; familiarity with predictive analytics and machine learning concepts is a plus.
