About the Role
As a pivotal member of Primark's Applied Insights & Analytics team, you'll transform complex data into strategic insights that propel business decisions and commercial success. This role spans multiple domains including Trading, Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, Finance, and Customer teams, requiring robust analytical capabilities and business acumen to convert data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define key questions, and deliver impactful insights that support informed decision-making.
- Utilize SQL and advanced reporting tools to analyze diverse datasets, spot trends, identify risks and opportunities, and guide activities across various commercial functions.
- Translate intricate analytical results into compelling stories, clear visualisations, and concise findings suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and continuously improve reporting solutions such as dashboards, scorecards, and management packs, ensuring they are user-friendly and provide measurable business value.
- Drive process improvements by pinpointing manual tasks and repetitive queries, aiming to streamline and standardize reporting and analytics delivery.
- Work in partnership with cross-functional Data & Analytics teams, maintaining strong data quality and trusted insights that underpin commercial growth and performance.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in analytics, insights, or commercial reporting within fast-moving consumer sectors like retail, apparel, grocery, or FMCG with strong SQL proficiency for data querying and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar, with a track record of designing impactful dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance reports.
- Strong commercial insight with an ability to link data analysis to key business metrics including sales growth, margin enhancement, stock optimization, and customer performance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft data stories and visualization that simplify complex analytical information for varied audiences.
- Effective stakeholder management and collaborative partnering skills to align analytics with business goals and ensure insights translate into tangible benefits.
- A solution-driven mindset comfortable handling imperfect data, implementing quality checks, enhancing reporting processes, and seeking efficiency improvements.
Working Environment and Benefits
This role is hybrid, requiring attendance in the office 2-3 days per week.
