About the Role
ASB Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Customer Data Analyst to lead initiatives that improve the management, protection, and strategic use of customer data. This pivotal role collaborates across functions to deliver insightful data solutions that enhance decision-making, risk management, and customer outcomes within the Personal Banking division under ASB’s Federated Data Ownership framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead analysis efforts focused on data disposal and enhancement projects, identifying and validating target cohorts.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Technology to convert records disposal requirements into data logic and ensure accurate cohort validation and disposal delivery.
- Work closely with Enterprise Data & Analytics and the Data Management Office to oversee critical data elements and bolster data quality.
- Conduct root cause analyses and data profiling to improve the quality of customer data.
- Provide actionable insights supporting the evolution and sustainability of PB data usage across emerging platforms and use cases.
- Support initiatives to uplift privacy, customer data, and records management within Personal Banking.
- Create detailed documentation including business requirements, process maps, impact assessments, data definitions, metadata, lineage, data quality rules, and controls.
- Identify emerging risks proactively and contribute to governance and control mechanisms.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Over seven years of experience in financial services or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in data analytics.
- Advanced skills with analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, SAS, and GDW.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, and control frameworks.
- Proven track record delivering insights in complex change or transformation settings.
- Ability to bridge business requirements with technical data needs effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder management and persuasive communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Solid problem-solving capability with good judgment and a proactive approach.
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
