Role Overview
The Senior CRM Manager will spearhead Envato’s CRM and lifecycle marketing strategy, primarily focusing on boosting email marketing performance and improving customer engagement. The role involves ownership of the full spectrum of CRM content strategies like segmentation, campaign design, execution, and optimization through a data-focused and customer-first approach. As a team leader, this position cultivates and empowers a group of CRM professionals, collaborating across departments to deliver tailored, impactful customer experiences. The role’s technical proficiency and strategic vision contribute to advancing lifecycle initiatives aligned with Envato's broader growth and marketing goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, collaborative team of CRM specialists with strong accountability.
- Manage the email marketing calendar to ensure coordination with brand, product launches, and business priorities.
- Develop and execute data-driven CRM and lifecycle marketing strategies aimed at enhancing customer acquisition, activation, and retention.
- Create and refine customer segmentation models to deliver highly personalized communications.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and continual improvement of CRM campaigns across all stages of the customer lifecycle.
- Advance CRM processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and overall impact.
- Utilize AI, automation, and emerging technology to elevate personalization, experimentation, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage marketing automation tools like Iterable to build reliable and scalable lifecycle campaigns.
- Analyze campaign results and customer insights to inform ongoing optimization.
- Partner with research teams to understand customer behavior and engagement drivers.
- Work closely with Brand teams to maintain messaging consistency, tone, and creative standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Tech, and Customer Success teams to align CRM initiatives with company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with email marketing best practices, deliverability standards, testing protocols, and legal regulations.
- Contribute as a senior member to the overall marketing strategy and planning processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 8 years of experience in CRM and lifecycle marketing with a specialized emphasis on email marketing.
- Proven background in leading and growing effective CRM teams with meticulous attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of email marketing methods including segmentation, automation, testing, and optimization.
- Hands-on expertise with Iterable or comparable marketing automation platforms and strong technical CRM system skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities to convert data findings into actionable marketing insights.
- Excellent skills in copywriting and editing, crafting customer-centric and compelling messages.
- Proficient stakeholder manager experienced in collaborating with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams.
- Experience applying AI and automation technologies to enhance CRM personalization and performance.
- Track record of reviewing and refining CRM processes for innovation and optimization.
- Well-versed in data privacy and marketing compliance, including adherence to SPAM Act, GDPR, and related regulations.

- Familiarity with global, digital, or subscription business environments.
- Experience incorporating customer research insights into lifecycle marketing strategies.
- Knowledge of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), particularly in data unification and audience segmentation.
