About the Role
Join NVIDIA as a Senior CPU Compiler Performance Engineer and contribute to the creation of world-class compilers that unlock the full potential of NVIDIA's CPUs powering AI and high-performance computing on a global scale. Work within a dynamic team shaping CPU, GPU, and compute unit software innovations with a focus on hardware-software co-design.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams to enhance and innovate CPU compiler software at NVIDIA.
- Analyze AI workloads to lead efforts in refining hardware and compiler toolchains, strengthening co-design synergy.
- Introduce new features and optimization approaches for NVIDIA CPUs while engaging with upstream and open source projects.
- Develop compiler software optimized for peak performance.
- Play a key role in AI, HPC, and data center technologies development.
- Support the advancement of next-generation compute solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 8 or more years of professional experience coupled with a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent expertise.
- Background in compiler development or relevant academic projects.
- Proficient understanding of language front-ends, compiler optimization methods, and code generation.
- Strong practical skills in C++ programming.
- Sound knowledge of CPU architecture and low-level performance evaluation, with hands-on experience in pre-silicon hardware/software co-design.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Experience with workload analysis and driving performance enhancements across hardware, software, libraries, and compilers through modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
- Expertise in CPU architectures like ARM (AArch32, AArch64), RISC-V, x86_64, PowerPC, or DSPs, including contribution to pre-silicon compiler toolchains.
- Proven involvement with well-known compiler infrastructures such as GCC, LLVM, or MLIR.
- Understanding of AI algorithms, scientific HPC workloads, and associated code optimizations.
- Meaningful contributions to open source or free software compiler projects.
