Overview
Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Contract Officer to join their team in Newcastle, NSW. This role involves contributing to the management and governance of transport service contracts to ensure safety, reliability, and value for money. The position is full-time, permanent, and offers hybrid working options.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Contract Officer will be responsible for supporting contract development, negotiation, and day-to-day contract management. The role demands building strong relationships with service providers and stakeholders while navigating contract performance, governance, and operational issues. Providing analysis, advice, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement will be integral to enhancing customer outcomes within a complex environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have proven contract management experience, commercial awareness, and strong analytical capabilities developed within transport, government, or similarly regulated sectors. You should be collaborative, solution-oriented, and adept at handling stakeholder relationships, interpreting performance data, and delivering clear, practical advice on contractual matters. Experience in contract development, negotiation, governance, and administration, accompanied by sound knowledge of commercial and contract management principles, is essential. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting is also required.
