Senior Consultant - Workday Adaptive Planning

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Consultant with expertise in Workday Adaptive Planning to lead and deliver end-to-end implementations. This role involves partnering early with clients to shape project outcomes and then driving the delivery to ensure impactful, measurable results. You will engage with cutting-edge AI-driven planning technologies and help clients transform their planning processes using Workday's Adaptive Decision Intelligence platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle Workday Adaptive Planning projects, including discovery, design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post-deployment adoption support.
• Create planning models that clients can proactively control, including driver-based budgeting, rolling forecasts, workforce & capital planning, consolidation, and management reporting.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and maintain strong client and team relationships.
• Coach and guide clients to achieve planning objectives and mentor internal teams.
• Apply sound judgment on integrating AI automation tools to enhance planning efficiency and accuracy where appropriate.
• Conduct discovery and qualification workshops with business leaders, converting their input into tailored solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Deliver customized product demonstrations that resonate with clients' business drivers.
• Develop project estimates, scope documentation, and implementation approaches to support proposal development.
• Collaborate with sales and the Workday alliance to articulate the business value case, emphasizing cycle time improvement, effort reduction, accuracy, and capacity gains.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrable hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, whether through implementation, administration, or power user expertise.
• Strong foundational knowledge of finance, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Confident communication skills to effectively engage with CFOs, financial controllers, and FP&A leads.
• Some exposure to front-end sales activities such as discovery, scoping, demos, or building value propositions, with a desire to expand in this area.
• Clear and direct verbal and written communication, simplifying complex ideas using relevant business language.
• Legal authorization to work in Australia or New Zealand.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

• Professional financial qualifications such as CA, CPA, or equivalent, or experience within an FP&A function.
• Familiarity with other enterprise planning tools like IBM Planning Analytics, Anaplan, Board, Oracle EPM, Pigment, or advanced spreadsheet models.
• Insight into AI-driven planning, decision intelligence, multi-cloud platforms, and software agents, even if only conceptual.
• Experience working in consulting or professional services firms.
• Knowledge of integration and data flows across ERP, HR, and reporting systems.
• Industry expertise in financial services, transportation and logistics, retail, or manufacturing sectors.
