Senior Consultant Cyber Security

As a Senior Consultant, you will collaborate with diverse organizations to enhance cybersecurity postures by assessing cyber maturity, designing governance frameworks, and implementing strategic roadmaps aligned with business goals. You will play a key role—from risk assessments and control testing to executive reporting and educational programs—helping organizations anticipate, manage, and recover from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cyber maturity and risk assessments leveraging multiple methodologies and frameworks.
• Design and evaluate cybersecurity strategies, governance models, and target operating frameworks.
• Develop and support implementation of cybersecurity roadmaps.
• Analyze cybersecurity expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate cybersecurity teams’ organizational capabilities.
• Establish and test cybersecurity control frameworks to verify design and operational effectiveness.
• Create customized cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Develop metrics and benchmarking methods to measure security performance.
• Design strategic dashboards to facilitate executive decision-making.
• Provide advisory services addressing business and IT risks.
• Communicate cybersecurity risks tailored to varied audiences.
• Support client training, awareness initiatives, and conduct tabletop exercises.
• Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Contribute to business development through proposal and RFP responses.
• Develop cyber resilience plans to reduce operational disruptions.

Qualifications and Skills

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity projects or related activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline preferred; MBA or master’s is an asset.
• Progress toward or attainment of certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CIA, or other relevant IT credentials.
• Knowledge of standards like ISO 27001, ISO 27002, ISO 27005, ISO 19011, and NIST frameworks.
• Consulting experience or exposure to multiple industries is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of various sector environments and business contexts.
• Self-motivated with excellent prioritization and adaptability skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational aptitude, and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication, both written and oral, with collaboration across stakeholders.

Compensation

Base salaries range between $73,500 and $122,500 CAD depending on qualifications, skills, and location, with eligibility for bonus incentives and access to KPMG’s robust Total Rewards program.
